This is part of the reason why I swapped the standard rewind crank on my Leica MP to the plastic tipped M6 version. The tips of the old style levers eat through jackets and shirts when you hang your camera off your neck all Winogrand style for a few years.
Granted, there are certainly more important things to be concerned about in life.
